Work Study

The UIW Federal Work Study (FWS) Program provides part-time employment opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help supplement the costs of a postsecondary education. It also encourages students receiving FWS assistance to participate in community service activities and develop real world employment experience.

Work Study Information

A work study award does not guarantee job placement. It is the student's responsibility to apply for a position through Cardinal Talent. The student must secure a work study contract before they can utilize their FWS award.

How To Apply

  • Visit the UIW employment website and click on "Search Jobs."
  • To view Student Position Types only, select “Student.”
  • View available postings and click on “Apply" for any position you are qualified for. You will need to create an account prior to applying. To create an account, select "Create Account."
  • Some positions may require a resume and/or a cover letter. For assistance with writing or updating a resume, visit Career Services.
  • If your application is selected, you will be called in for an interview with the supervisor.
  • Once you have been hired for a work study position, you will access and electronically sign your work study contract through your UIW email.
